The RCA 1P21 and a Hubble image of Proxima Centauri

A couple of interesting images:

1. This first one is the RCA 1P21 Photomultiplier tube, the work horse of stellar photometry before photodiodes and CCDs.

2. An image of the star Proxima Centauri (Alpha Centauri C), the closest star to our own Sun at 4.243 LY (1.3009 pc) with a parallax of 768.7 mas. (Hubble Space Telescope image).
